To the Skies Quest Walkthrough

Last updated: 2026-10-30

To the Skies is an Apollo quest about the gondolas: he wants intelligence on them, so you scan crashed ARC wreckage, hunt down four rare components, and repair a Gondola Prototype on one of four maps. It looks straightforward on paper — the trap is deploying without the four parts in your stash, which turns a quick quest into mid-raid scavenging.

  • Giver: Apollo.
  • Maps: Dam Battlegrounds, The Blue Gate, Spaceport, Riven Tides (plus any map for the scans).
  • Required items: 1x ARC Performance Steel, 1x ARC Pop Trigger, 1x ARC Synthetic Resin, 1x ARC Thermo Lining.
  • Rewards: 8,000 XP, 3x ARC Performance Steel, 3x ARC Thermo Lining, 3x ARC Synthetic Resin.
Tip: check your stash before deploying. If you already have Performance Steel, Thermo Lining and Synthetic Resin from previous raids, you only need to source a single Pop Trigger on the surface.

Step 1: Scan a Crashed ARC Probe and a Courier

Both scans can be completed on any map, in any order. Crashed Probes and Couriers appear at random crash sites — watch for black smoke columns rising from the terrain, and interact with the head of the wreck to run a short scan animation. Spaceport, Buried City and Riven Tides are the best reported hunting grounds.

Warning: you are stationary and exposed while scanning. Clear the immediate area first — in contested zones other players or ARC patrols can catch you mid-animation.

The Electromagnetic Storm map condition dramatically increases the number of crashed ARC machines on the surface — queue it whenever it is available to knock out both scans in the first minutes of a raid. After scanning, breach the wreckage: Couriers can drop an ARC Pop Trigger, covering one of your four repair components for free.

Step 2: Collect the Four Components

All four are Rare-tier ARC materials:

MaterialQuantityBest Sources
ARC Performance Steel1Bastions, Bombardiers, Leapers, Baron Husks
ARC Pop Trigger1Pops, crashed ARC Couriers
ARC Thermo Lining1Pops, Fireballs, Baron Husks
ARC Synthetic Resin1ARC Probes, Baron Husks, Hornets, Shredders

Baron Husks are the most efficient single source: one breach can yield Performance Steel, Thermo Lining and Synthetic Resin at once, covering three of the four.

Step 3: Find the Gondola Prototype

The prototype appears on four maps, but you only need to repair one of them. Pick whichever map you run best:

MapZonePrototype Location
Dam BattlegroundsRed LakesCentral Red Lakes area
The Blue GateFarmlandsFarmlands zone
SpaceportEast PlainsEast of the eastern extraction elevator, north of Communications Tower, south of East Plains Warehouses
Riven TidesDried RiverbedSouthernmost part of the Dried Riverbed, under a small bridge

Spaceport is the most navigable choice: the prototype rests on its side near crates beside a raider structure, close enough to the exfil elevator that you can repair and extract without crossing the whole map. Riven Tides is equally reliable if you already farm that map — follow the quest marker under the small bridge at the south end.

Step 4: Install the Parts and Activate

With all four materials in your inventory, approach the prototype and install each component at its interaction point — order does not matter:

  1. Install ARC Performance Steel.
  2. Install ARC Pop Trigger.
  3. Install ARC Thermo Lining.
  4. Install ARC Synthetic Resin.

Then step back and hit the activation prompt. The gondola powers up — and promptly explodes. That is the intended outcome, not a failure state: the quest completes the moment it activates. Stand clear, because the blast has a real radius.

Extract safely and return to Speranza to collect your rewards from Apollo.

Is It Worth Doing?

The reward stack — 8,000 XP plus three of each material except the Pop Trigger — partially refunds what you spent on the repair, making this one of the better resource-positive quests in Apollo’s chain. Any Pop Triggers you looted along the way are yours to keep.
